Australian Nurses were on the first convoy of ships to Egypt in November 1914. Nurses stationed on hospital ships received the wounded throughout the Gallipoli campaign in 1915.
Once enlisted, Nurses had to remain for the duration of the war unless wounded.

These Nurse pieces are, kiln fired,handmade earthenware clay pieces with leather strapping. There is a cord at the back for convenient hanging.
