Handmade animal and human figurines, made from clay, have been with us since as early as 24,000 BC. From the earliest times we have been making things out of readily available mud. It feels good to work and can be fired in an open fire. I hope you like my Australian handmade art pieces.
I think it is the simplicity and raw nature of clay that attracts me to this medium, however I enjoy any creative process and although I have worked in clay for thirty years, I also love photography and have dabbled in glass slumping, fabric printing and painting. I am also happy when I work from a brief on a commission. The Robin Hood, among others, came about through a brief. I’m particularly proud of a joint venture in 2016 with Isabelle Miaja of Miaja Design Group, Singapore. Miaja design group worked with me to design a series of pieces for the Luxury resort, Ozen by Atmosphere, on Maadhoo Island in the Maldives. This involved supplying ceramic pieces for nearly 100 rooms in this beautiful resort.
How to commission an artwork
In recent years I have been able to indulge in my passion for photography. It’s wonderful to get out and mix with the natural world with camera in hand. In 2018 I was awarded a Master of Art in Photomedia.
I hope everybody enjoys my new website and I look forward to re-connecting with past patrons and working with new clients into the future. Whether you are an interior designer or private art lover, and you are interested in Australian handmade wall art please feel free to get in touch for a chat and let me know if I can help you with any enquiries.
